Ankles take two...

I know some of you were concerned as to how I possibly functioned with the previous cankle picture...to be honest, I have no clue but I am happy to report that the swelling is going down and I actually could see my ankle bones this morning and wiggle my toes!!! Yeah!!! What women go through to have a baby!

Had to include this latest picture of Koy. Seems like he is growing already which I can't stand. He loves his swing...(thanks Grandama Carrie) and Brig and I still feel like we are dreaming. It is so amazing and a true blessing to have him!

Koy is such a good baby already and at our appointment yesterday with the pediatrician he was 7 lbs exactly. When we left the hospital he was 6 lbs 10 oz which was borderline of the <10%>

Nearing the end...

I cannot believe our baby is coming this month. I never thought
December would be here. Brig and I have both been talking about
the bittersweet experience pregnancy is. We can lay in bed
and feel our little boy, but then turn to eachother and just be
together without a baby to worry about. Not for too much longer.
It is crazy to think that soon I will have two boys in which I must split my time.
How did my mom do it with eight kids and yet I ALWAYS knew
she loved me. Its amazing. Hopfully all those wonderful
motherhood traits are genetic becuase my sisters have them too.
Our little Koy is already so loved and spoiled!! Thank you to everyone
who helped with my showers. It was so fun to see everyone, get advice, and
feel the support and love from family and friends. Cannot believe
I will be a mom in a matter of a couple weeks! Crazy!!!!! We are making a book
of birthday predictions so leave your guesses. Date and time! Closest guess
is in for a treat!

Happy Halloween!!!!

Only 7 more weeks (or less:) til we get to hold our little
pumpkin!!!! Hope your Halloween was as entertaining as ours!

BYU vs Utah State

A big thank you to the Barkers for the weekend of endless entertainment and little get away! We drove up to the game in Logan and then stayed at Bobby's cabin. Everytime we go with them to a Jazz game or BYU game, Brig is like a little boy at Christmas. He looks forward to it for weeks and when its over its a major let down! Nate and Bobby live right across the street and have two adorable kids. It is so great to have such good friends! Thanks again! GO BYU!!!!

Friends...

What in the world would a person do without friends???...the weekend started off with a girls lunch for Mindy and her new baby. Megan was up from Vegas, and it was so fun to see everyone. Thanks to Linds for doing the "RAM RODING" to arrage everything.

Then our good friends from Idaho, Brant and Leslie came down. They brought their two cute kids Tregan and Abree. I met Leslie when I moved to Burley, ID in 1998. We still talk about the first time we met and how we have been best friends ever since. We both went to nursing school, called eachother before hard exams and RN boards...complained about clinicals, and now we work for the same company. I must add that I even slept in the same bed with Leslie the night before her wedding and last night as a single woman...!!!! We have had some really good times together. Her husband Brant and Brigham met in person for the first time this weekend. I wish they could have stayed longer. I hope she won't mind but I have to show off her little kids. Most of you know and followed her blog when she had 26 week twin girls last fall. I took several trips up to McKay Dee Hospital. Little Addelyn past away Oct 24th and Abree fought a long battle to be on this Earth. So here she is...Brig and I will claim her as one of the cutest little girls in the whole world...
THEN....(born at 1 pound 4 oz.)

NOW....
She is so cute. Brig and I had Tregan and Abree asleep with us on the couch...it was so fun and made us both so excited for December.

We of course went and ate at Cafe Rio, introduced the Darringtons to the tres leches (yum yum) and got Leslie hooked on my new craving/addiction....Sonic Fresh Cherry-Limeaid. Happy hour is 2-4 pm if you are interested.

Thanks for coming guys. We miss you already, and hope we see you soon! The weekend ended with my lovely husband breaking up a 40 pound chunk of chicken that his blonde wife decided to deep freeze instead of seperating when thawed...DON'T ASK....thanks BABE!!! You truly are the best.

Pictures as promised...

Yep... pretty sure its a boy...why do
I feel a little guilty posting this picture? Maybe because it is our sons bare bum? Maybe its because
Zana stressed me out the other day about all her babies being blogged for all the world to see?
I probably should have asked permission from Brig on this one so enjoy it before its deleted...

Here is a side profile. It is amazing at 17.5 weeks what they can see. The
3-D images get better and better as the baby gets bigger, and some turn out looking a little strange, but it was fun to get an idea of what our little man looks like. We are already guessing that he has his dad's ears...low set and they stick out a little. How stinkin cute?!

My video clips are having issues so I will post one as soon as I can figure them out.

BOY OR GIRL...take one guess...

One of our many purchases this weekend after we found out...
ITS A BOY!!!!!
(Despite the voting...)
I should have known after the countless fight nights, and late UFC TV watching, that this would be Brigs favorite onsie thus far. We had a 3-D ultrasound (pics to be posted soon) and we were both so excited. We did some shopping up at PARK CITY, already found the perfect CRIB, and are getting ready to PAINT the nursery. We have been really busy lately with a family reunion to Flaming Gorge, Brig finishing summer school, swimming, the Spanish Fork Rodeo, up to the cabin for the 24th, and working. We are so excited for a boy! Can hardly wait!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIG...

This will go down in the record books for two postings in a row but I had to wish my hunny a happy birthday. I could post an essay on how wonderful Brig is but decided to keep it short by saying that I married the most sincere, considerate, loving, hard working, and selfless person in the world. I am so happy that you are mine forever...

Cancun, Mexico

Brig and I just got home from Cancun...and the report is...we are thankful to live in the states, especially Utah. Brigs family all went and we had lots of fun. It was very hot and humid, and the entire trip I just wanted a big glass of cold ice water. (This was impossible to find since most liquids would reach boiling point just before you drank them!) We stayed at an all inclusive resort check out the beaut here (http://oasiscancunresort.com/), shopped, visited Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and even ate Pizza Hut one night. We are trying to pack in all the vacas before the little one comes and we are homebound and poor!!!! The water was gorgeous and it was a trip we will never forget. A big thanks to Brigs mom...she is an amazing woman and she is so fun to vacation with...and to watch her talk to all the Hispanic people is always a real treat! We all voted that the next vacation will be to Alaska!! Can't wait.

Coming Christmas 2008....

We figured it was time to announce officially that there is a Duckett baby on the way...
The baby is about 12 weeks so still teeny tiny...but we have heard the heart beat twice. Our first ultrasound was at seven weeks mainly to make sure it was just one instead of two, three, or four! Gotta love fertility medicine:) Brig, Carrie (Brig's mom) my mom (Rozan) and little Britt (Brigs little sister) were there for the ultrasound. It was so fun to see "IT" and hear the heart. Due date December 26th so everyone pray that the baby comes just a couple weeks early or else "IT" may hate us. I will keep you posted on the progress and if you are lucky you may get a belly shot or two! We are so excited...MERRY CHRISTMAS eh?

This is just some random 12 week baby...my job has perks but not any this good.

Wahoo Jord...

Congrats to Jordan for graduating...Here is Brigs favorite picture (total joke) of Jord flashing his two state champ rings. You have two really jealous brothers...We love you!

COLORFUL COLORADO

Here we are...Dane and Jess and the two eskimos. (Note: see Jess's blog)...entering COLORFUL COLORADO. Don't you think they should spruce up that sign a little?
This weekend we went back to my roots! Colorado is so beautiful and I miss the simple country life sometimes. We made a trip out of it with Dad, Myrna, Dane, and Jess. We went to the old ranch, met up with Grandpa, Mary, Stacey, and Ed.
Here we are just about to embark on one of my favorite parts of the trip...the Glenwood Hot Springs. It is world known and my Dad always claims it will make you feel ten years younger...check it out at http://www.hotspringspool.com/ which was a frequent trip my family would take when I was younger. A little dip in the pool, Baskin Robins or Pizza Hut, and a scenic drive home.

We drove through Meeker and stayed the night in Craig. We ate at the golf course and went to the cemetary to see the Grandma's new headstone and leave flowers for her and Uncle David.
It was a really great trip and brought back a lot of memories. Brig told me on the way home that he cannot believe he married a country bumpkin. He should consider himself lucky:)

Oh to be in love...

Just a little sidenote to thank Dad and Myrna for the weekend hang outs, the Jazz parties, endless lamb and bean salsa, and especially for the comfortable spare bed. I worked last night and instead of driving home, I came to Dad and Myrnas and crashed in the guest bedroom. It was heaven. The pillow top matress and extra microfiber pad were amazing. I think I was asleep before my head hit the pillow. Then I woke up to one of Dad's famous lamb sandwiches (which by the way is something that if you haven't tried... you haven't lived)! When people ask about my Dad I always tell people that him and his new wife are so happy and in love that it is disgusting...in a good way of course. They are two of the sweetest people I know and would both give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. They are so fun to be with and the spirit in their home is unlike anything I have ever felt. Thanks for all that you guys do...you truly are the best! And the fact that you have been to Disneyland five times in one year says it all!

Thought for the day...

An instructor of mine emailed this African Prayer to me....

Let us take care of the children, for they have a long way to go.
Let us take care of the elders for they have come a long way.
Take care of those in between for they are doing the work.

For any of you in the medical profession I am sure you can relate, as well as all you mothers out there. Brig and I always discuss how we wish you could retire first and then work...wouldn't that be nice.

To keep you all updated...I worked one week in the Operating Room and I was bored out of my mind to say the least. I talked to the manager and educator and told them that it was just not the right fit for me. So as of today I will be working in the womens and children services.... It should keep things interesting and give me lots of experience. Thanks to all of you who have supported me and encouraged me through nursing school and all this job stuff. Brig and I are headed to Vegas next week for a little R&R. I promise to post some pics...I am praying for SUN!

April 2, 2008

Its Final...

I officially became a RN this week...my licence came today in the mail. Last Tuesday I took boards (the NCLEX)...2 hours and a terrifying 48 hour wait to see if I passed. After my test I couldn't get the questions out of my head and had two sleepless nights. I checked online at 5:30 am on Thursday and immediately called Brig. With a sleepy voice he answered and I told him I PASSED!!!!! He was so excited even though I woke him up.
The night before boards we went to dinner with Dane and Jess at Tucanos and before I went to bed Brig give me a blessing. It made me feel so much better and I knew that I just had to turn it over to my Heavenly Father to help me pass. I studied like crazy and Brig assured me that I had done all that I could. This entire journey has been so hard and my dream of becoming a nurse is finally a reality. I officially started a new job in the OPERATING ROOM. I have always loved the OR and having the weekends and holidays off is a nice little perk. I have felt so much relief this week, I went and got a massage at the spa (thanks to Brig), and I have to keep reminding myself that I am finally a REGISTERED NURSE!

Viva Las Vegas!

Here are the top three pics of the Vegas trip. I know, I know, it was almost a month ago but hey...better late than never eh? Well, it was really fun. We went and saw Le Reve which was one of the trip highlights. With help from our trusty ticket salesman, Mistalyn and I were given the ins and outs of all the restaurants, shows, and night clubs...only took about what....three hours?! It was really fun to be with my sisters who I love more than anything. We had some good laughs and we will never forget our lunch at La Cantina...our waiter was HOT to say the least. HIGH FIVE!!!!!

This picture confirms our obsession with Diet Coke. It is one of lifes small pleasures...

I've been Tagged!

TAG #1

My husbands name is: Brigham

How long have you been married? 3 1/2 years

How long did you date? 2 1/2 years + weekly mission letters = 4 1/2 total.

How old is he? 24

Who eats more? Definitely Brig.

Who said I love you first? Brig did. We were at his house and I told him I loved him back!

Who is smarter? It depends on what you are referring to. The human body/nursing-ME but when it comes to banking/sports-no question DEFINITELY Brig. Brig is back to school full time so he will probably pass me up on everything soon. I will admist that I have to work much harder in ANYTHING that I do and things just seem to come more naturally for him.

Whose temper is worse? I would say his, he would say mine?!

Who does the laundry? I must honestly admit, Brig takes the cake on this one right now, but I have done my fair share.

Who does the dishes? Please refer to the above question....

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Brig

Who pays the bills? I do. But Brig surprisingly recently requested to start taking over. I am all for it!

Who cooks dinner? Um…. We both do. I would say I do most of the cooking but Brig is the king at breakfast. I don't think I will ever get sick of his breakfast burritos.

Who drives when you are together? Brig unless he asks me to.

Who is more stubborn? Probably me, but he runs a really really close second.

Whose parents do you see the most? We see Brigs mom the most for sunday dinners, but they all live close so it is nice to see them all. We go on a lot of double dates with my Dad and his wife.

Who proposed? Brig, at a little grassy park/field where we first met.

Who has more friends? We both have been blessed with a lot of friends. Since we went to the same high school for two years, we have a lot of the same friends. Brig has a TON of mission friends, and I have quite a few friends from Colorado and Idaho since I lived there as well. Friends are the greatest!

Who has more siblings? Me... I have 7, Brig has 4

Who wears the pants in the family? I would like to and think I do most of the time but truly Brig is the boss.

VEGAS HERE WE COME...

So on Friday, my three older sisters and I will be headed to VEGAS!!!!! We all are WAY OVERDUE for a weekend away. Plans consist of eating BUFFETS, going to BODYWORLDS, riding the NEW YORK NEW YORK (maybe if I have the guts), EATING OUT, doing some serious RETAIL THERAPY, going to CIRQUE DU SOLEIL and most importantly having the "BOOTS UP" girls together. So I want a little feed back on some of the things people love to do in Vegas so that we don't miss out on anything. Its not like we all haven't been there before, but it seems like there are always little secret restaurants and places to visit that only some people know about. Also a little side note, I have recieved a few emails lately about the Hinckley Challenge. It is pretty cool and I am going to do it so if you are intersted or just want to check it out visit:

January 30, 2008

Sunday news was quite shocking. President Hinckley is one of those poeple that you think will live FOREVER. He surely will be missed in our house, and will remain a favorite for a long, long, time. He was truly amazing!

A Weekend Away...

So thanks to my wonderful brother and his real estate purchases...Brig and I were able to get away for the weekend. Yea I know... we were only 45 minutes from home, but Salt Lake City to us feels like a different state. We stayed in my brothers condo in DOWNTOWN salt lake, ate at PF CHANGS, and the new CHEESECAKE FACTORY, did some shopping at the GATEWAY, went and saw the new movie JUNO, and we were just able to escape the stresses and routine of daily life. It was BLISS!!!!! Not to mention the steamy hot tub on the roof in which you can see the entire valley. It was a beautiful scene. Thanks TY!

January 7, 2008

Just had to post this for my sister. I cannot believe how fast my newphews and niece have grown up. Nothing better than holidays with family...
Thanksgiving in Disneyland and Arizona was the greatest!!!!!

Graduation!!!!!

I'm back....sorry about the disappearing blog. Basically I tried to get creative and in doing so...my entire blog was erased. So it has taken some real motivation to get blogging again. We have been pretty busy but I am finally going to have a break. I graduated in December and I am relieved to say the least.
