Thought for the day...

An instructor of mine emailed this African Prayer to me....

Let us take care of the children, for they have a long way to go.
Let us take care of the elders for they have come a long way.
Take care of those in between for they are doing the work.

For any of you in the medical profession I am sure you can relate, as well as all you mothers out there. Brig and I always discuss how we wish you could retire first and then work...wouldn't that be nice.

To keep you all updated...I worked one week in the Operating Room and I was bored out of my mind to say the least. I talked to the manager and educator and told them that it was just not the right fit for me. So as of today I will be working in the womens and children services.... It should keep things interesting and give me lots of experience. Thanks to all of you who have supported me and encouraged me through nursing school and all this job stuff. Brig and I are headed to Vegas next week for a little R&R. I promise to post some pics...I am praying for SUN!

Its Final...

I officially became a RN this week...my licence came today in the mail. Last Tuesday I took boards (the NCLEX)...2 hours and a terrifying 48 hour wait to see if I passed. After my test I couldn't get the questions out of my head and had two sleepless nights. I checked online at 5:30 am on Thursday and immediately called Brig. With a sleepy voice he answered and I told him I PASSED!!!!! He was so excited even though I woke him up.
The night before boards we went to dinner with Dane and Jess at Tucanos and before I went to bed Brig give me a blessing. It made me feel so much better and I knew that I just had to turn it over to my Heavenly Father to help me pass. I studied like crazy and Brig assured me that I had done all that I could. This entire journey has been so hard and my dream of becoming a nurse is finally a reality. I officially started a new job in the OPERATING ROOM. I have always loved the OR and having the weekends and holidays off is a nice little perk. I have felt so much relief this week, I went and got a massage at the spa (thanks to Brig), and I have to keep reminding myself that I am finally a REGISTERED NURSE!
